Come on come all to the “cool summer” styled shoot! This session was shot at Pink Pineapple Studios, a natural light studio. Texas is SO hot during the summer months so I wanted to create something indoors to make sure my models weren’t miserable. The inspiration behind the session was for it to “feel” like summer without physically being outside. Keep reading below to find out a little more about the specifics of the shoot. I hope this session inspires you to create something beautiful!
XO,
Leigh Ann
GEAR: d750 and 50mm 1.4 lens.
INSPIRATION: I was inspired by some pool floats in a store one day and decided I wanted to do something creative with them. I wanted it to not be what would normally be expected so I knew I did not want to use them in the pool. I started brainstorming and came up with the idea of using pool floats in the studio. From there, I knew I wanted the session to be colorful and feel like summer so I got the most colorful jewelry and outfits I could find and the brightest seamless paper and went with it!
HAIR AND MAKEUP: Normally I have professional hair and makeup for sessions but this one came about pretty quickly so my girls actually did their own hair and makeup for the shoot!
MODEL TEAM: I have about one “down” month between each years seniors. I use that month to create fun shoots with my model team for the upcoming year. It gives them a chance to get to know other girls from schools they may not go to, get comfortable in front of the camera and just have fun images to preview all summer before they start their senior year. I use this time to get all my creative ideas out and shoot for fun and to try different styles while I am not shooting client sessions during the year. These really break the ice for my team as well as give me a huge boost in creativeness. I try to pair all my models with someone they don’t know as well. It is my goal throughout the year for them to leave their senior year and have new friends from our model team. I want them to feel like they have an entire squad behind them cheering them on. This was my first shoot with these two particular models and as we worked throughout the shoot you can see their confidence come out as well their connection with each other. I absolutely love these creative shoots and they have been so valuable to myself and my team. I hope you enjoy our fun summer fruit shoot too!
